Your move, big or small – we move it all

DAVE’S TRANSPORT … is a local and long distance furniture  removal business located in the Helderberg Basin, Somerset West, Cape Town and Durban. We offer a friendly, reliable, professional and quality service. Dave and Joe will be personally present to supervise the move from start to finish.

We do local and long distance moves and offer an efficient service in Somerset West, Strand, Gordons Bay, Stellenbosch, Boland and Overberg. Our service also includes the greater Cape Town Metropole at competitive tariffs.

We also do long haul moves to/from other areas in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, West Coast, Free State and  Durban We only do full truck loads of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom households on long distance moves. We dont do part loads or individual items on long distance moves.

We have trained and friendly staff to assist you with your move. We use two to eight workers depending on the size of the move and access for our vehicles. We are all about quality of service to our clients.

The business caters for moves from houses/apartments/flats/ storage, as well as office moves. We only use our own vehicles and photographs done by us as shown on our website.

Antique and fragile furniture is covered with blankets and shrink wrap before loading, However it is highly recommended to bubble wrap paintings and mirrors to avoid any damage. On request bubble wrapping is offered at an additional fee.

All our vehicles are fully enclosed and fully maintained and checked on a daily basis. We use Nissan UD40, 6 metre bin, payload 4 ton truck and a 5 metre draw bar trailer, payload 2 ton ( to load a 2 Bedroom house/apartment). Nissan UD90, 8 metre bin, payload 8 ton truck and 5 metre draw bar trailer, payload 2 ton to load a 3 Bedroom house. And a Mercedes Benz 1835 Axor Truck and 7.2 metre  Pantech Trailer and a 11.5 metre Pantech Trailer payload 18 ton ( to load a 3 or 4 Bedroom house ). A Toyota Hilux bakkie, payload 1 ton. Our vehicles may change from time to time due to upgrades and availability. All vehicles are the property of Dave’s Transport.

All our trucks and trailers come with diesel, labour, blankets, glad wrap, straps and trollies and it s included in the quote. Blankets are the property of the company and are removed after offloading. Bubble wrap and cello tape will be charged for separately and is  extra. All personal items to be removed before the start of the move. An inspection of all furniture is done with the client before wrapping and loading takes place. An inspection is also done after off-loading.  All furniture trucks are personally packed/off-loaded and Driven by owner Dave and Driver Joe. Trucks are thoroughly checked after off-loading. Care and professional service is our motto.

 

Smaller moves will be done with our bakkie and fully enclosed trailer. We also use the bakkie to do moves to and from basements of apartments where there is no access for a truck. The bakkie and trailer can be used as a shuttle at an additional cost.

All our vehicles are fully monitored with a tracking system and built in front and back dashcamera. Our vehicles are fully serviced by recognised agents with a service history record and all our vehicles are fully licensed and ready for work. We also offer insurance for the furniture in transit which is extra.

Just send us your list of furniture to move including the pickup and delivery addresses, access for our vehicles and your preferred date and we will send you a quote within 24 hours. Insurance is available for the furniture in transit according to the value there of. We are fully insured through Outsurance for stock in transit at an additional cost. The quote is based on the total volume and weight of your furniture as well as the access to the two properties and distance.
